Software Engineering, My First Lecture!

    Yesterday is my first day to study about the software engineering in my faculty, hmm... let's talk about software, hehe. Before, i know software just as an application but after I read a book and listened the lecture, i have got a new definition. well, from the lecturer information whom i got,  that software is an item or object to which form a configuration that consist of program/instruction, documentation and data structure. I had confused about the word "wear out" on the slide at the moment. yap, the slide told that software is wear out, really just now i know that term. Well actually the similiar meaning of wear out is never out of date/ never broken hehe. It is conform with the fact that software really never wear out.
     Then i got a new knowledge about the various software application, such as : - system software - application software -embeddeed software - engineering software - product line software - web application nut i don't know the detail of each software hahaha.
   According to the source whom i read, there are many categories of software hmm there are : -open world computing: it like distributing computing, pervasive - ubiquitous computing: hmm it is the term who make me so curious when i fill my irs to get my lecture, because there is the ubiquitous lecture, eventually i know what the ubiquitous is hahaha. that is like a wireles network - netsource: the web as computing engine - open source: i remember about the quote in this sentence, that is "a blessing, but also a potential curse! hahaha".
